Fernando Alonso leads a Ferrari one-two at the Bahrain Grand Prix
It looked as if it should have been Red Bull’s weekend. Or at least Sebastian Vettel’s weekend. But in the end the unreliability that seems to have crept in to the Red Bulls stopped them from carrying on where they left off in 2009, despite Vettel leading the first F1 Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain for the majority of the race.
2014 Kia Sportage (pictured) gets a mild facelift
The Kia Sportage is Kia’s best-selling model in the UK, and Kia are keen to keep things that way so they’ve given the Sportage a bit of a tweak for 2014. The changes are quite modest – just enough to mark this Sportage as a 2014 model – with a new version of the ‘Tiger Nose’ grill with added chrome and restyled mesh, better back lights, new 16-18″ alloys and LED tail lights on the top-end models. The interior has been given a bit of a lift too with new soft touch trim on the doors, nano paint finish on the dashboard and centre console, heated steering wheel and electric driver’s seat on top-end models and repositioned audio tweeters for better sound.
The first production, hydrogen-powered Hyundai ix35 arrives in Copenhagen
Hyundai has been threatening to deliver the first production hydrogen-powered ix35s in Europe for a while, and now its finally happened. Fifteen 1×35 FCEVs have been delivered to the City of Copenhagen during the opening ceremony for the first hydrogen refuelling station in Denmark and will be used by the City of Copenhagen as part of their municipal fleet, and demonstrate in the process that FCEVs are a practical proposition. Hyundai has been deploying prototypes of the ix35 FCEv across Europe for the last couple of years as it works to raise awareness of the technology and drive the impetus for a pan-European hydrogen refuelling network, with EU policy makers having access to the ix35 FCEV and 100 European businesses getting a chance to play at a recent event in Berlin.
